Love Looks Pretty on You With Lang Leav

Back in 2016, I failed to get a slot for Lang Leav’s Sad Girls Tour. It was supposed to be the first book signing event that I would go to. I didn’t know what to expect and I arrived at the venue too late. I was disappointed because I waited weeks for it. And I failed. So, when National Bookstore announced that they’d be bringing Lang Leav back, hope filled my heart. It’s my second chance to see her and get a book signed!
At the date of release, I went to buy her new book right away. It has a very apt title, “Love Looks Pretty on You”. The exclusive NBS edition is so cute with its pink edges. It’s so adorable to look at.
I read it a few days later. And what a beautiful book it is! Poetry touches the heart in a very profound way. Lang Leav shares her experiences and encourages other women to be strong and to accept themselves. I am particularly drawn to this book. It has a lot of happy poems, especially the one entitled “Love Looks Pretty on You”. No wonder they chose that to be the title of the book!

Then came February 24! Of course, I learned my lesson from 2 years ago and I went to Alabang Town Center waaaaay earlier than its opening hours. I found the loooong line and queued up for two hours. Yep. Two hours. πŸ˜‚ And the early bird catches the worm... or in this case, a book signing slot! Yay! πŸ˜ƒ
My book and slot stub!
The ATC Activity Center was packed! There was excitement and anticipation in the air. Also, copies of Lang Leav’s books were on display, too. Sigh, if only multiple books were allowed, I could’ve bought more. Hihihi~ πŸ˜‚

The crowd erupted with cheers and applause when Lang Leav arrived! Even I couldn't contain my excitement.

Lang shared a moment with us and talked about her new book. She also told us about her life experiences for the last ten years as an author. What really struck me the most was her advice on doing your work with integrity. Though honesty brings about the longer and harder way... in the end, you’ll get to where success is. “In the end, you’ll always find your way,” she said. And I think, it’s more rewarding to bask in success when you know you earned it with integrity and without hurting other people.

And lastly, the moment we’ve all been waiting for! The chance to get my copy of Love Looks Pretty on You signed! During my turn, I told her that I’m glad that she wrote it. I like the book because it has a happy theme. And she told me how delighted she is in hearing that. Wheeee~ Aaaand yes, a posed photo with her! πŸ˜ƒ
A dream that waited two years! Finally!

Lang Leav is as beautiful as her poetry! She’s so kind and gentle. And looking at her makes me feel so calm. If ever there will be another of her book signings next time, I’ll surely be there to listen to her and to see her again. What about you? Have you read Lang Leav’s books?

My Chouhou Gundam

I am so excited to write about the latest addition to my Gundam collection!  This time, I got it from the Gundam Caravan Booth last Best of Anime 2012 ! It was a fun-filled event full of cosplayers and various booths !  This time, we were given the Chouhou Gundam to setup. Uhm, I'm not sure if there is another name for this Gundam. However, the Katakana characters read as "Chouhou", so let me stick with that.  The box of Chouhou Gundam. Hey! This one is new! Other than the manual for setting up, there is also comics inside the box. Wow! It is great as I will get to know more about this Gundam! But time was of the essence, so I decided to move on with building and detailing and set aside reading for later. Comics inside the Chouhou Gundam box. So let us start with the steps in setting up. Here are the photos: We start off with the feet Then the head was next. Putting stickers on is hard, you know. Of course, we need the torso to connect the

Proud to be a Bella

May 21 2011 had been added to my list of memorable days thanks to the girls of Belle de Jour Power Planner. That special day was the BDJ Girls' Rendevous for the month of May. The theme was I Dream, therefore I can.  It was one of the biggest event to date. Almost 100 slots were available to be filled. The invitation to the event was given through various contests. I got my slot in this event through the Belle de Jour Facebook Fan Page. They posted a question at exactly 2:54 PM of May 5, 2011. They posted a question as their status which was: Question, Bellas:   How do you unwind/relax when you're stressed from school or work?   The first 25 BDJ Girls who will comment on THIS THREAD will get a slot at the BDJ Rendezvous: I Dream Therefore I Can! : ) When I saw that post, I immediately wrote "I watch my favorite teleserye." Woah! Believe it or not, I got the lucky 25th slot. Weee! The Rendevous was held in Ace Water Spa in Ortigas. I thought that swimming wi

My Playlist

My taste for music spans a lot of genre! I like Pop, Rock, Alternative, K-pop, J-pop, and RnB. What makes me like the song is the lyrics foremost, and rhythm would be next. I am not really a music junkie. I can't even sing! But I turn to music to make me relax whenever I'm stressed out. It also makes me forget time. As of the moment, my playlist involves a lot of K-Pop songs, thanks to Rain for that matter. There are also Filipino, English and Japanese songs. When I play music, I really pay attention to it. I listen to the rhythm, the tempo, the artist's voice, and the overall emotions of the song. That was how my music critique self was born! It's been a long time since I posted an album review. My playlist for the moment is as shown below. I usually put it on shuffle so this is not ranked according to how I like the music. Credits of the YouTube videos that I embedded goes to their respective owners.  1. My Way by Rain - This is the only song which made me cry
