Cosplay Mania 2016

Best Blogger Tips
Okay, the date might confuse you. But yeah... I'm writing about Cosplay Mania 2016. When I was writing my blog post for Cosplay Mania 2017, I found out that I had the 2016 one in the drafts with only three paragraphs. Life became so hard for me and coping up was the priority. Eventually, I moved on until I forgot about it.

So here I am making up for lost time. Yeah... life is still as crazy as ever but I just can't let go of something unfinished. I will share with you the photos and whatever memory I had from last year's event. It was a huge difference from this 2017. Yep, there was a queue, but it won't take you hours. The crowd was bearable to say the least.

Cosplay Mania 2016 happened on the month of October. It was probably the only cosplay event I went to for that year. Yep, I'm not kidding when I say that life gave me a lot of challenges. It was held at SMX Convention Center. I went there only on Day 2, as my schedule permitted. It was nice to see myself surrounded with colorful costumes and geeky stuff again. Wheee~

I got the gold ticket!

There were activity and merchant booths. The first booths that I went to were the NHK booth where they gave Domo-kun prizes and the Green Tea Kitkat booth for a free photobooth and samples. Freebies galore!

My Kitkat green tea and photo. Cute cosplayer!

My gold ticket enabled me to access the performance stage. And oh, here are my real time Instagram posts about it. Told you I had a few evidence of my time there. Hahaha~ It was a nice opportunity to be able to take photos of the the guest international cosplayers. Oh~ And my crush Kaname was there! Hihihi~ Here I am getting all kilig again. \(^_^)/

But I kept my focus and took videos of a few performances on stage...

Of course, as usual, I opted to take photos of cosplayers in the event. I recognized a few foreign cosplayers there, like @phildukemaggio and the Wolverine cosplayer (which I also saw last STGCC in Singapore). I took photos of cosplayers inside the halls, as there were still space to move about. However, the lighting outside was better for taking photos... makes my life easier... hehehe...

The event is not complete without toys. I didn't join in making Gundams. I just took photos of the few Gundam toys on display at the Gunpla booth.

Toys, cosplay, and seeing my cosplay idols made up my Cosplay Mania 2016. Yep, you can read between the lines that I had one great time! Got a lot of loot, too... Wheee~~

Cosplay Mania 2017

Best Blogger Tips
Cosplay Mania was the first cosplay event here in PH that I went to. After Chara Expo and STGCC in SG, I was in a hype of all things anime, cosplay, and other geek stuff. Anyways... I haven't missed Cosplay Mania since 2011. Yep, there was no write up for 2016 but I swear I was there. Hahaha~ Life became so busy for me that all I ever had were a few paragraphs. But now, I told myself that I should at least write some for 2017. Wheee~~

So September 30 and October 1 was Cosplay Mania. I went on Day 2. When I heard from the aftermath of Day 1 that the queue was over the top, I had my doubts of going. However, I told myself that I had to see my friends, too. True enough, the queue took me hours. It was unbelievable! I bought only the silver ticket, enough to see the cosplayers and merch booths inside the halls.

My feet were already killing me after the queue. And inside the venue was so crowded! The merch booths were jam packed, as well. I do appreciate the cosplayers there who were still willing to pose for the camera despite the crowd. Here they are...

Cosplayer Hikari Sky as D.Va from Overwatch

 as Ash Ketchum from Pok√©mon

 Tifa Lockhart cosplay

Cosplayers of Lili and Asuka from Tekken

As Elsa from Frozen

As Harley Quinn and Joker from Suicide Squad

Cosplayer Rosette as Baterial Contamination Miku

A cosplay event has some toys, too. There were a few displays of Gundams and other cute mecha themed ones.

Aside from the displays, the sponsor booths gave out freebies, too. The Gunpla booth had the Gundam making contest. And of course, there's a big Gundam on sight, too.

Behind this Gundam, are people setting up theirs.
I find the Canon kiosk the best! You can print a photo with their Pikachu plushies. Oooh~ Those are so adorable! Here's a photo of me and my friend holding the Pikachu toys.

Oh~ So cutie Pikachu!

Overall, it was not the best Cosplay Mania for me but I still enjoyed the event. Cosplay and photography have always brought me happiness. Seeing my friends again made all the difference, too. It's nice to see that more people are interested in the hobby, now. So, I do hope that more improvements will be made in future events.

My loot. :)
