The Rurouni Kenshin Fun Booth at Glorietta

Best Blogger Tips
I first saw the Rurouni Kenshin Costume Exhibit booth at Toy Con 2014. I was very excited and couldn't wait to write about it when I got home. But alas! Due to time constraints, the planned draft didn't even get a head start. But the Rurouni Kenshin hype is still on and when I visited the Glorietta Cinema lobby to check out movie schedules, I found the booth there. I said to myself, "Yes! I have been given another chance to write about it!"

I felt the same excitement and the same OMG feels as when I saw the costumes for the first time. I couldn't believe that the actors fit into those costumes. It seemed too small for real. Hehehe

There was also photo walls which showed stills from the movie.

What made this visit even more special for me is the participation of Shinkendo Philippines. Sir Julius invited me for a photo op of the students and the booth. Of course, I happily agreed. I love taking photos. Hehehe

Sir Julius was the one who showed me the booth. (^_^)

And here comes the best part, I saw autographed stuff from actors Takeru Satoh and Munetaka Aoki, and from Rurouni Kenshin director Keishi Otomo. (^_^) I may have missed them in the Red Carpet Premiere but this is as close as I can get. Yay!

Le good stuff! (^_^)

Of course, there is the autograph of the lead actor, Takeru Satoh

Sir Julius gave me information about Shinkendo Philippines and showed me the signed bamboo sword, books, and photos of their Master from Japan, who is a real samurai! Woah! Out of amazement, the only reply I said was, "May samurai pa pala ngayon?" (There are still samurai in these times?") Hehehehe~ I guess I believed the movie The Last Samurai a bit too much. Hehehe

If you're interested in learning swordsmanship, you can contact Shinkendo Philippines on Facebook. Luckily, I took a photo of their flyer. (^_^) Or you can visit their fun booth in Glorietta, up until August 25 only.

Now, that's what I call a very amusing and educational experience in a fun booth! Have you watched Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, yet? Cinemas are almost full when I checked it out. Hmmm... It would be better if you reserve your seat online.

This movie is worth is absolutely worth it! I'm very happy that it gets the full attention it deserves now. The first Rurouni Kenshin was very excellent that I gave it a 5-star rating on my reviews. Of course, Kyoto Inferno is just as good! (^_^)

Oh So Cute Transformers Face Masks!

Best Blogger Tips
I got Cybertron's toughest masks at innisfree Takashimaya! Wheee~

innisfree's hero transformers masks
But hold your horses! Those face masks are for men!

Awww... but it's okay. I never planned to use these cute thingies in the first place. I'm just so in love with the Transformers concept. It's quite rare, yeah? A robot printed on a face mask packaging.

I bought these during the time when Transformers 4 was upcoming or was showing in theaters. Yeah I know, I'm quite late with this post due to lack of time. (T_T) But nothing will stop me from writing about my new stuff (^_^)

You gotta admit, these face masks are so adorable! The Hero Transformers Mask come in two variants. The Bumblebee mask contains lemon extract for skin brightening.

Bumblee mask (SGD 5.00)

The Optimus Prime mask, on the other hand, has Acai Berry extract for skin tightening.

Yay! Happiness further... the lovely cashier gave me two samples of innisfree's bestselling and award-winning product to date: The Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

The Transformers masks, I won't use... but this clay mask, I definitely will! Who knows I might write a review about it, too. It's been quite a while since I have written a cosmetic review.

I'm so happy, happy, happy!

My innisfree haul! (^_^)
Sigh... if there is another wish I have... is for innisfree to open up a branch here in Manila, too!

Len and Rin

Best Blogger Tips
My main motivation of attending this year's Otaku Expo Reload was the invitation from my friend, Reeve, to a photoshoot with me as a photographer. Uhm.. Honestly, I was reluctant at first, considering that I only have an ordinary digital camera, not a DSLR. Hehehe~ But Reeve had faith that I could do it so I agreed to take on the job. (^_^)

So last August 10, Reeve and Rosette cosplayed the vocaloid characters Len and Rin Kagamine. They donned the yellow costume and the sweet charm of that is distinct to all vocaloids.

From left: Rosette as Rin, and Reeve as Len

Well, I only took the photos but the idea for poses are attributed to Reeve and Rosette. We explored the various corners of the venue to take beautiful and breathtaking photos.

Here is Reeve as Len Kagamine...

...and Rosette as Rin Kagamine...

Alright! Brace yourselves for the super sweet aura of the couple shots...

And here are my favorite shots:

Don't you think they look gorgeous with eyes closed?

Or perhaps you can feel more emotion with their eyes open...

Just simply dramatic!

Don’t they both just look lovely? It’s really amazing when cosplayers do couple shots as it really helps in the realization of the characters. After all, without any context, characters will remain a work of fiction and, therefore, artificial. Reeve and Rosette did a great job portraying Len and Rin. Till next photoshoot, perhaps? Hehehe~

The Cosplayers - Otaku Expo Reload Day 2

Best Blogger Tips
It's been a while since I attended a convention. The last one was ToyCon 2014 and I missed writing about it. Hehehe~ Sorry guys, I will try to write about it one of these days. For now, I will share with you photos of cosplayers from Otaku Expo Reload 2014 which happened at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall on August 9-10. I was there to cover only the second day.

My ticket for the Otaku Expo Reload 2014
I bought a ticket worth PhP100 and strolled inside for a short while. There were the usual maid cafe, a small event stage, food stalls, and on-site cosplay and anime merchandise for sale. But despite all the happenings, I decided to drain my camera's battery on photos of cosplayers who were there, people who dedicated so much on this beautiful craft.

Yep, so here are some of my shots. I hoped that I could have taken all photos of the cosplayers, but alas! my camera's battery is limited...

Cosplayer Deathbringer Aren and Cosplayer Willord Ordona
Cosplayer Kae Ong

Cosplayer Ayreesh Rivera

Cosplayers Rosette and Reeve as Rin and Len Kagamine

Cosplayer James as Kaede Rukawa

And my favorite cosplayer of the day is...

Cosplayer Bea Bondoc as Link of The Legend of Zelda series. I, myself, also loved the video game franchise and I am familiar with the character by heart. When I saw this cosplayer, my thoughts went like... "Link! Legend of Zelda!". (^_^) I was immediately awed by the accuracy and details of the outfit. The sword and the shield look so real. Every stitch and embellishments of the attire are flawlessly done, too. Plus, she acted out the action poses so well!

Phew! It was a long and fun day I spent with friends. One thing I noticed is the improvement of the craft and costumes. Hopefully, I can attend more conventions this year! Oh and you ask where was I? I was the photographer. Teehee~
