Friday Night with Bellas

Sorry for this very late post, everyone. Life has gotten quite complicated and I am now in argument with this thing called time. As you grow older, it seems to get out of your hands. I am struggling to manage it and to stop myself from saying, "I don't have time."

Speaking of time, I now have work during Saturdays (BOO!), so I miss hanging out with my fellow Bellas. When Belle de Jour Power Planner announced of an event and it was scheduled on a Friday night, I said, "Yes! Finally! Time to bond with them again!"

Without second thoughts, I signed up for the BDJ Passion Series: Shake, Pour, and Serve! It was held on June 14, 2013 in TGI Friday's Glorietta and the topic was about cocktail mixing and flair bartending. It's in perfect timing, too! 'Cause I like cocktail drinks and the creativity in mixing and looks that come with it!

All about Shake, Pour, and Serve! ... with Marilyn Monroe on the side.

My BDJ wristband for the event!
I met familiar faces of Bellas! We took lots of photos of  the place (and ourselves!) before we settled down for dinner. I shared the table with Eca, Gee, and Lea.

With Bellas: Eca, Gee, and Lea. :)
Before everything else, we had dinner, while being treated to a bartending show of TGI Friday's Stars Behind the Bar!

Caesar Salad, rice, Spicy New Orleans, Pork Liempo, Brownie, and unlimitied Iced Tea.
Here are a few photos of the performance of Stars Behind the Bar! They are the best bartenders of TGI Fridays from different branches. My crush is the one from TriNoma. Hihihi...

Here are a few snapshots I took of the performance. I'm sorry if some are blurred. My cellphone camera can't quite capture motions in crisp detail. Yep, it's one of the lessons I learned that night.

Yes, they throw bottles in the air!
Yep, they got everyone's attention! :)
They gave out the drinks they concocted during the show! For free! Yay! We got this really strong drink which made my head spin after just a sip. I don't know the name though. Love the colors!

After dinner, they called in participants for the cocktail mixing workshop! I happily volunteered for the Strawberry Margarita. I picked that slot because I like strawberries, even though I haven't tried margarita yet.

Whoops, here I am trying out a pour! Photo by Eca

Concocting this drink is hard. Like, we were required to toss liquids in air and then catch it! The host told us that it can stain clothes! I was very careful to not let it get near my shirt! Noooo! Not on my favorite Rainthetreasure shirt!

Showing us how to toss it the right way! Photo taken from the BDJ FB Page
I also learned that Margarita is an ice blended drink! Ooh! I knew I would love this drink after I hearing that! Sorry guys, but I can't remember the recipe in detail, and some ingredients were unfamiliar to me.

Bartenders have this term, Exactopour, which means that the drink made will fit the glass right up to the brim with no spillage. Hmmm... when I tried it with my work...

Yay! So happy to finish my drink! Photo from BDJ FB Page.
My work of art: Strawberry Margarita!
I guess some liquids got thrown out after all that unsuccessful tossing! LOL! So there, my Strawberry Margarita with sugar on the glass!

You know, when I cook or make drinks that I am not sure of, I really doubt the quality of it. But this time, when I tried my Margarita, I was surprised that it actually tasted good! Wow! I can't believe it! I'm so proud! The bartenders were good teachers!

Would you like to try my Strawberry Margarita? Photo courtesy of Gee.
What a fun night of learning (and drinking)! I got to spend time with Bellas, too! I miss you so much, soul sisters!

My loot! :)

Presenting The Starbucks 2014 Planner

There are a lot of 2014 planners available out there. For this post, let me share with you the 2014 Starbucks Planner. Every December, people are talking about it! The cover and the layouts are something to look forward to, as well. For this year, it came in four colors: yellow, magenta, brown, and black. The black one is the Philippine edition ( hmmm, tempting! ). I'm very much impressed because the cover feels like leather.  I will feature the magenta one. My friend owns this. I already have a planner for 2014, owning another doesn't make sense at all. Hehehe ~ So, I decided to take some photos of it and share what's inside. (^_^) Left: the box, Right: the planner.  The cover is embossed with coffee icons and Starbucks coffee blend logos. I noticed the symbol for their coffee Sumatra and the elephant icon for Kenya. The 2014 Starbucks Planner in magenta I saw the symbol of the Starbucks coffee blend Sumatra embossed on it. Here is a really cute featur

My Chouhou Gundam

I am so excited to write about the latest addition to my Gundam collection!  This time, I got it from the Gundam Caravan Booth last Best of Anime 2012 ! It was a fun-filled event full of cosplayers and various booths !  This time, we were given the Chouhou Gundam to setup. Uhm, I'm not sure if there is another name for this Gundam. However, the Katakana characters read as "Chouhou", so let me stick with that.  The box of Chouhou Gundam. Hey! This one is new! Other than the manual for setting up, there is also comics inside the box. Wow! It is great as I will get to know more about this Gundam! But time was of the essence, so I decided to move on with building and detailing and set aside reading for later. Comics inside the Chouhou Gundam box. So let us start with the steps in setting up. Here are the photos: We start off with the feet Then the head was next. Putting stickers on is hard, you know. Of course, we need the torso to connect the

Proud to be a Bella

May 21 2011 had been added to my list of memorable days thanks to the girls of Belle de Jour Power Planner. That special day was the BDJ Girls' Rendevous for the month of May. The theme was I Dream, therefore I can.  It was one of the biggest event to date. Almost 100 slots were available to be filled. The invitation to the event was given through various contests. I got my slot in this event through the Belle de Jour Facebook Fan Page. They posted a question at exactly 2:54 PM of May 5, 2011. They posted a question as their status which was: Question, Bellas:   How do you unwind/relax when you're stressed from school or work?   The first 25 BDJ Girls who will comment on THIS THREAD will get a slot at the BDJ Rendezvous: I Dream Therefore I Can! : ) When I saw that post, I immediately wrote "I watch my favorite teleserye." Woah! Believe it or not, I got the lucky 25th slot. Weee! The Rendevous was held in Ace Water Spa in Ortigas. I thought that swimming wi
