JYJ for Tony Moly

Best Blogger Tips
One of my favorite K-Pop bands, JYJ, is the newest endorser of Tony Moly! I was very happy to hear this good news. Tony Moly have branches here in my country and I can easily go there without the hassle. Of course, I just had to drop by for a visit!

Just grabbed this photo from Tony Moly FB page
I visited the branch at SM North EDSA and I love the colorful "Tony Moly" signage. Take note: the colors move every second or two! It's the first time I saw a boutique with a unique sign like that. And... I got excited when I saw the JYJ poster on the background! :)

The Tony Moly boutique in SM North EDSA.
A saleslady greeted me upon entering the store. And woah! It's my first time to see a salesperson in a Korean cosmetic store to be so talkative! Usually, they just follow me around and speak only to answer my questions. But this salesperson in Tony Moly built rapport with me. I like that! She followed me as I went through the store, all the while explaining their products even if I didn't ask. She proactively invited me to try out samples of the lotions and makeup! It's fun to know all about cosmetics!

With my current obsessions with face masks, it's no doubt that I bought a bunch of it! I also got the Tony Moly International Membership card for free. Sweet!

My Tony Moly haul.

My Tony Moly Membership Card. :)
I am turning into a fan girl and I am like...*I am going to try EVERY Tony Moly product*. Yes, and if possible, write reviews about it. Tony Moly has just become one of my favorite cosmetic stores, all thanks to JYJ!

My Multiply Site

Best Blogger Tips
I am sad to hear that multiply.com will stop it's social networking features to fully become an online shopping website. So, if you have a multiply site, download all your blogs and photos now as it will no longer be available starting December 1, 2012.

The news made me nostalgic as I remember my college days. It was a rivalry between Friendster and Multiply back then. I liked Friendster as most of my friends were there. However, it was multiply who gave me a chance to have my own site. Back then, I didn't understand what I was doing so I just typed in ultigamer.multiply.com. It was the only idea that came into my mind. But alas! When the time came that I wanted to change it to a more catchy name, it was just not possible anymore.

The header of my Multiply site with custom CSS by Limegemini
I will miss Multiply as this was one of the sites where I started blogging. Truth is, I wrote my first reviews there. And that feature is the one that I will miss the most. Unlike here in Blogger, Multiply has this organized scheme where I can categorize my reviews as per genre, product, etc.

You could choose what to review.

Choose the genre of your review.
This was my favorite! Restaurant review which lets you choose the kind of cuisine.
I will surely miss the animated stars which I couldn't find anywhere. :(

Look at the stars!

Well, aside from these features, there are also astronomy groups which I hope to find again in another blogging platform. As for my friends? There's Facebook for that. :)

Thankfully, I have imported all my 93 blog posts from Multiply to Blogger. Unfortunately, I would have to re-publish them here. So to my readers, be prepared as I update this blog with a blast from the past. :)

My Perfect Arch on Cosplay Mania 2012

Best Blogger Tips
My second visit to Browhaus Greenbelt 5 proved to be a nice experience as the first time. The trigger for this visit is my Browhaus P500 Cash Coupon which I won last BDJ Passion Series: Filipina Forward! I am very happy to have this in such perfect timing!

I intended to go there a day prior to Cosplay Mania 2012 so I could have perfect eyebrows on this special event. I wanted to look better because international cosplayers would be there! Little that I knew, having professionally done eyebrows could make a huge difference!

The specialist who treated my eyebrows was Cora. She did well in shaping my eyebrows. It wasn't as painful as before now, I guess we all get used to the pain. Cora was really fast and she was done in less than 15 minutes!

Of course, I need to put makeup on whenever I cosplay. And the hardest part is...the eyebrows. It is difficult to shape it in a box-angular-arch shape thingy. On ordinary days, I usually use the angled brush with eyebrow color to define it. Furthermore, it is very time consuming, as what my makeup teacher once said.

But for Cosplay Mania, I had no difficulty of shaping my brows. It was perfectly arched that all I needed to do was apply color on it with minimal effort. That is the advantage of having professionally done eyebrows! It saves you time and effort in applying makeup.

Here is a photo of me (on the left side) with the perfect arch of my eyebrows:

Me on the left side with Mayden Ong on the right.
With this new realization, I am all the more satisfied with the results of my Browhaus visit! I won't be surprised if there will be a third!

What is a Face Mask?

Best Blogger Tips
Even if I love cosmetics, there is still one product in the market that I am not yet fully aware of. Face Mask. What is it? And what is it used for?

My collection of face masks.
The photo shown above is my collection of face masks. The Essence Mask Vitamin A on the upper left is from Etude House and I bought that to complete a purchase requirement for a BDJ coupon. The Pearl Extract Mask on the center is also from Etude House, which I got from a BDJ Rendevous as a giveaway. The upper right Royal Jelly Mask (also form Etude House) was given by my colleagues who visited Korea. The bottom left Lettuce and Cucumber Essence Mask from Skin Food was also given by a friend. I acquired the Lemon Face Mask with Kim Hyun Joong print from The Face Shop Club 20 VIP membership

These masks just piled up in my drawer. Well, that was until I saw Kaika's video on YouTube about skin care for cosplayers. Kaika is a Singaporean cosplayer and I follow her blog at http://thecosplaychronicles.blogspot.com/  She mentioned using face masks the night before a cosplay event for better skin condition. See the video below:

I am so happy to know that my growing collection of face masks can help me attain a good skin for cosplay! It is something that is really of use to me since I just started out from this hobby.

After seeing that video, I tried putting on masks twice this week. The first one that I used was the Essence Mask Vitamin A from Etude House. It left my skin moisturized and smooth. The effect of it was so powerful and it left me impressed.

The second one that I tried was the Lemon Face Mask from The Face Shop. It had a different feel on my skin and it dried a little after 30 minutes. However, when I removed the mask, I saw a layer of dirt on the linen where my face was! Imagine all that chunk of dirt was on my face! Afterwards, my skin became bright and radiant!

These two face masks gave out different result. I guess this cosmetic product also has specific functions that treat skin according to its needs. Face masks give the skin an instant boost, may it be hydration, cleansing, or brightening.. Hmmm... I'm suddenly curious at what the other face masks in my collection do.

Etude House BDJ Coupon

Best Blogger Tips
December is fast approaching and I realized that I haven't used my Etude House Belle de Jour Coupon yet. Its validity would only be up to December 31, 2012. So I decided to visit the store and splurge on some beauty products.

I love Etude House. It might be due to the cute pink princess-like packaging or the fact that they had Lee Min Ho as an endorser. The products that I have used so far reacted well with my skin. I have tried the BB Cream, the Happy Tea Time Cleansing Foam, the Color My Brow eyebrow color, the eyeliners, and the Juicy Pop Tube Lip Gloss.

The BDJ coupon gave a gift upgrade for a minimum purchase of PhP500. The illustration was so cute that I had to take a photo of it.

The EH BDJ Coupon
So for this haul, I planned that a lip and cheek tint be included in my purchase. Last 2012 BDJ Fair, I went to the venue without makeup on. Thankfully, my friend Michelle gave me some of her lip and cheek tint. I was impressed by the product that I now want one for myself.

As always, I was greeted and treated like a princess in the Etude House boutique in SM Bicutan. For me, this has been the EH branch that has excellent customer service. Even the lady guard joined in saying, "Good morning, Princess!"

The EH lady who assisted me was Carla. She accommodated me very well and was very patient in following me around. I had a hard time choosing among the cute range of beauty products at the store. I bought the Dear Darling Tint (of course!) and the Happy Tea Time Cleansing Cream. To complete my purchase, I bought two face masks aptly named as Essence Mask Vitamin A.

My EH Haul. :)
My purchase was over PhP500, so I was entitled to a free item. But with my BDJ Coupon, I got the Hair Pin Ball Point Pen which was meant for a PhP1000 worth of purchases.

Cute pin! :)
Yay! I am so happy seeing these beauty products! Thanks to Belle de Jour Power Planner for the coupon!

Limitless: The 2012 Belle de Jour Fair

Best Blogger Tips
I anticipated the coming of October 14, 2012 as it was the date of the 2012 Belle de Jour Fair. There were previous posts that I wrote about how excited I was to see the latest versions of the planner line of Viviamo, Inc. and about the activities to look forward to on the day itself. Truth be told, the event surpassed my expectations! Now, I am still having post-fair blues.

Me at the Belle de Jour Fair
This year's Belle de Jour Fair was held at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. This year's theme is Limitless! The event was also the launching of the 2013 Belle de Jour Power Planner, Navi, Forget-Me-Not notebooks, and the newest Everything is Possible Planner. Other than planners, I also witnessed the launch of the latest service of Viviamo, Inc.: the BDJ Box.

Planners of Viviamo Inc. on sale at 20% off.

I bought the matte covered planner for only P480 at the fair!
Lots of booths from various sponsors were there to hold activities where prizes could be won. Entrance is free but a donation of P100 earned me the VIP Pass which allowed access to special booths and seminars.

The Charity Pass.

The special booths that came with it.
Upon entering the fair grounds, I joined in the various booths right away. The first one that I visited was the Black Beauty booth where I won a Silk Conditioner.
Prizes at the Black Beauty booth.

The next one that I visited is the hairstyling booth of Azta Urban Salon. I saw my fellow-Bella Michelle eagerly registering on this booth. Together, we patiently waited for our turn. We even missed the scavenger hunt that we originally intended to join.
The booth of Azta Urban Salon.
I was very excited when it was my turn! The stylist asked the kind of hairstyle that I wanted. I told him that I want curly hair! He was very adept with his skills that he finished quickly and with great results! I think the time it took for him to fix my hair was more or less 10 minutes.

I really love Belle de Jour! They always make it an effort to make every Bella beautiful! During last year's fair themed Take Flight, I had my makeup done courtesy of Etude House. This year, I had my hair done!

Tadah! Look at my hair! The stylist did a good job! I was very happy with it that it made me all the more eager to take pictures.

Here are some of the booths that I took photos of. Some gave out product samples and others had photobooths and raffles. I wanted to join the bungee jumping and wall climbing booths but the queue was longer than what my patience could bear. It just proves that a lot of people purchased the VIP Pass too, and I am happy with that.

Do you dare climb this?
There was also the 2013 Commitment Wall where Bellas were free to write almost anything. Some kept it true to the word "commitment", while others (like me!) wrote about how they feel with the event.

I expressed about how I love BDJ!
With my VIP Pass, I was able to enter the Beauty Bootcamp seminar with speakers Georgina Wilson and Erica Paredes. With my new found love for makeup, I just couldn't miss this one! Our host was Ms. Kat Dy and she was very enthusiastic to see us Bellas! There was also a raffle segment within the talk. And yay! Ms. Kat Dy picked my name as the winner of a Bauhaus gift pack!

My prize from Bauhaus! :)
The first speaker was Georgina Wilson. She shared to us about skin care tips and how to avoid or treat breakouts. I was star struck by her presence that it was hard for me to concentrate on what she was talking. She was like a living Barbie doll.

The next topic was about makeup and it was expertly delivered by Ms. Erica Paredes. She shared her experience with makeup. She talked about the basics: applying foundation, eyeshadows, eyeliners, blush color, lipstick... the works! I remember three tips for better makeup application:

1.) Use a primer for a more polished look.

2.) Lipliner is there to hold the lipstick color longer. Erica gave us a tip of putting lipliner all over the lips then apply lipstick over it. She told us that it will make lipstick last even when eating.
3.) Lastly, she told us to experiment and find out what color or product works best for us.

With that, Erica started the launch of the BDJ Box by showing us a short video about it. Unfortunately, the venue was too sunlit that it was not visible on the projector screen. But here is a picture of a tarpaulin nearby which gave a summary of what BDJ Box was all about:

What is the BDJ Box?
The place attracted a lot of people and the crowd further grew upon twilight. I took this photo before I went home:
The festive BDJ fair!
I couldn't believe my loot when I got home! There were snacks from Chippy, C2, and Kitkat. A free magazine from Metro and Cosmopolitan were included in the goodie bag. Product samples were also given! No wonder it was so heavy!

The prize that I won from the raffle. Thanks, Bauhaus.
This year's BDJ Fair stayed true to the theme! Belle de Jour has always been a blessing to me! The challenging activities, inspiring talks, and promising products make me believe about being Limitless

Club 20 by The Face Shop

Best Blogger Tips
Just recently, I decided to become a member of The Face Shop's Club 20. I checked out some blogs and found it enticing! With all the samples included for a very affordable price of PhP150 (as of writing), I just couldn't resist it! Membership is good for one year. One of the perks of having this VIP Card is getting invites to exclusive events... and I love events!

I bought mine at the SM North branch and I had to wait on queue as there were other girls who wanted to sign up, too.

Surprise for the Taste Buds at ThaiDara Restaurant

Best Blogger Tips
Have you went to a place thinking "Okay, this will do." and ended up with "Wow!"? That happened to me and my friends earlier when we went out to lunch. We were supposed to eat in a burger joint in Kapitolyo, Pasig. For some reason, we didn't push through with the burger plan. Thankfully, we saw the huge sign of ThaiDara Restaurant nearby. Since time was of the essence (we were only allowed an hour to eat), we randomly decided to eat there.

I am a food lover and that is the reason why I almost always bring a camera or my phone with me. But I was having a bad day so I left it, expecting nothing less than ordinary food. However, the delicious taste of our lunch made me regret my decision. Thankfully, one of my friends brought her camera-phone with her.

Unfortunately, I can't give you a food review this time. Pardon the lack of photos, I was caught off-guard by the surprises life gave me earlier. What I can share with you are the experiences me and my friends had in this restaurant.

The waiter was very nice and accommodating. I asked him on the waiting time because we were getting worried that we might not be late for work later on. He told us, "ten minutes". So we decided to give it a try.

It was my third time to eat in a Thai restaurant, but some of my friends were having it for the first time. They gave me the floor to choose the food. I chose Green Curry Chicken and Threesome Rice. My friend Rachel added Bangkok Spring Rolls for us. We ordered dishes good for 2-3 people. She happily volunteered to take all these photos we see in this blog post.

Kudos to the waiter! Food was served in less than ten minutes! Yup, I timed it. When you are hungry, every minute is an eternity.

The friendly waiter served the Threesome Rice first. There is a reason why it was called Threesome... something about the ingredients put in the rice. Hmmm... but I can't remember it anymore out of sheer eagerness for the food. We literally pigged out on it that we forgot to take a photo of it first. But ah well....

What was left of the Threesome Rice just seconds after it was served.
Threesome Rice already had flavor in it. Alone, it will do. Having Green Curry Chicken to pair it with enhances the flavor even more! We had to request for a not-so-spicy serving of this dish. I know that Thai food is spicy.

Top view: Green Curry Chicken (P209)
Lastly, we had Bangkok Spring Rolls. I really didn't have any idea what it was made of. It revealed to be made up of vegetables in the end. Oops, one of my friends don't like veggies. I, too, don't like certain veggies. So what I did was to mix the spring roll to my rice and green curry chicken! It blended perfectly and the green curry masked the leafy taste.

Top view: Bangkok Spring Roll (P179)
I usually describe the taste in detail when I write food reviews. Ever wondered why I didn't this time? Truth is that... I was very overwhelmed by the ambience, the flavor, the whole experience! The food speaks for itself! I fell short for words. I didn't think... I just ate... and ate... and gave in to the passion found in the food.

Me and my friends were so happy when we left. My friend, Michelle, even said, "This is the type of restaurant I want to treat my whole family with. It was truly worth it!"

And did I mention we ordered dishes good for 2-3 persons? There were five of us and it was more than enough. One spring roll was left and Michelle had to eat it forcefully. With that I can say that the prices are reasonable.

Beyond everything else, it was the first time that I felt deep happiness in the food. The chef must be truly passionate with his craft! I am very happy that he shared it with us.
