[Food Review] Everyday Tous Les Jours

Best Blogger Tips
My addiction with Tous les Jours started when my cousin brought home a whole load of breads from the said bakery. She recommended that their products are of high quality, while handing me their bestseller aptly called as "Sweet Black Rice Bread with Cream Cheese". Upon taking my first bite, I couldn't stop eating it up until the last piece. With that inspiration, I decided to go visit one of their stores for a closer look.

I went to their branch in SM North. The store is located in The Block near SM Hypermarket. Saturated with yellow lights and wooden furniture, Tous Les Jours had the french bakery/coffee shop aura.

Yummy breads on display!

Breads on display for sale. Oh! There is my favorite!
Following my cousin's recommendation, I bought the one with cream cheese filling. However, I had a dilemma which one to choose as it has two variants.
The one with black sesame? or plain?
I asked the TLJ girl on which one tasted better. She recommended the one with the black sesame. So there was my decision. And I dined in because I was excited to sink it into my mouth immediately.

The flavor was reminiscent of cheesecake, but this one has a creamier and softer interior fill. The black sesame seeds are not just on the surface, it is also mixed in with the cream cheese. Furthermore, it gives texture to the bread. With soft Tous Les Jours dough, it gives a nice creamy explosion of flavors in the mouth. What is amazing about this product is that the dough itself is yummy on its own.

I was seated right next the cake display! Waaa! It is impossible not to drool upon seeing them. Those cakes are so unique and attractive! TLJ bakers are extremely talented.

This is the perfect gift for a chocolate lover like me.

This is way better than a kiss!

For strawberry lovers out there.

Wow! A cake with chocolate layers!
Hmmm.. now I know what I want for my birthday! Tous Les Jours cakes are inspiring! I will definitely buy one of these on the next occasion. It is definitely a perfect surprise that would make anybody smile.

And before I went home, I bought this Peanut Butter Cookie as my dinner dessert. Love it!
My Peanut Butter Cookie. :)
Tous Les Jours has this distinct flavor that is sure to make you come back for more. It seems that the bread has life on its own. It inspires and makes anybody happy. TLJ bakers have passion that they put into their products. Go try one to truly experience what I mean!

Tous Les Jours is located in SM North and SM Southmall. Visit http://www.tlj.ph/ for more information.

SkinWhite and Nuffnang Bring You Snow White and the Huntsman

Best Blogger Tips
Snow White and the Huntsman is coming! This reminds me of my childhood days. Snow White has been one of my classic fairy tale favorites. When I was a kid, her love story is the one that I have desired, calling my special someone as "Prince Charming". I guess all girls can relate with that. But reality bites as we grow and let go of our fairy tale fantasies.

However, even if we can't be Snow White, we can come close to having her beautiful bluish white skin that our real-life Prince Charming can never resist! Thanks to SkinWhite, every girl can achieve skin as beautiful as Snow White's. SkinWhite works magically as it has SYNCHROWHITE ACTION that works in FOUR ways all at the same time:

First, it WHITENS the skin surface.
Second, it REDUCES formation of new dark pigments at its source.
Third, it NOURISHES skin with Vitamins.
And lastly, it PROTECTS skin against toxins and UV rays.

BDJ Tells Us to Dare. Believe. Become.

Best Blogger Tips
I was thankful to have another bonding moment with my fellow Belle de Jour Girls last Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Ace Water Spa, Pasig. The event was very enjoyable as various booths were present from the sponsors. Not only that, it was topped off my talks and workshops regarding fashion, career, and self-confidence by experts. Most of all, it was nice to see new and familiar faces in the Belle de Jour community.

BDJ Rendezvous 2012: Dare. Believe. Become.
Just as it is seen at the entrance.
We were encouraged to explore the various booths before the talks started. There were CarbTrim, Athena, Flipsters, and Purebeauty kiosks.

The CarbTrim booth was about free sampling and video testimonials.
Bellas try out Athena in Milk and Chocolate Flavor.
The event was kicked off by our lovely host, Jasmine Mendiola.

Of course, any BDJ Rendezvous won't be complete without games and PREZZIES! (^_^) This is also a great way for Bellas to bond together and have a healthy competition. As Jasmine said it, Bellas are determined to win!

The substance of BDJ events is about the ever-inspiring talks from the industry's best experts. The topics centered on fashion, career, and self-improvement.

The first topic was about the 2012 Fashion Trends, presented by Ms. Cielo Fronteras, a jewelry designer, makeup artist, and model. She gave us examples of the clothes that are 'in' for the year; like mermaid-inspired flowing clothes, statement collars, snake skin, and 60's fashion.

Ms. Cielo Fronteras starting the series of inspiring talks.
Ms. Fronteras also gave demos on how to do the 'in' makeup for 2012: the Soft Coral Lips and Starry Eye.
Who knew that putting liquid foundation on the lips followed by a pink lipstick are all it takes for the Soft Coral Lips.
Ms. Fronteras showing us how to do the Starry Eye, which I unfortunately forgot. :(
The second topic was done by Ms. Ginny Gonzales, an instructor at John Robert Powers Manila. Truth be told, this part was my most anticipated one! I badly need to learn how to have a work-life balance. The key points were: Stop, Drop, and Roll! Stop and evaluate your tasks. Drop unimportant tasks (i.e. learn to say 'no'), and Roll in fun because life is a blessing.

Bellas listen well to the talk.
Pretty much sums up what I need. :)
Ms. Gonzales emphasizing on the most important thing to focus on.
Before the last talk, snacks were served thanks to Bizu Patisserie. And wow! Being a food lover, I had the best of everything on a plate!

Since I was too busy indulging in the food, I didn't have the time to take pictures of the yummy food. But no worries, my friend Helen of http://luckycitrine.blogspot.com/ had these beautiful pics:

And the best part! The Tower of French Macarons! Wowowowow! (^_^)

After that most fulfilling treat, it was time to fill our minds with another inspiring talk from Ms. Sarah Ramos, an expert on consulting and training from the company Trainstation. She talked about the Ten Steps to Confidence. She captured the audience with her perky personality and expertise in training. Here are my top three lessons learned:
I am Valuable. Always see yourself and other people as a perfect Ten. :)
When you see yourself as a perfect ten, you start to act like a perfect ten too. :)
And of course! Ms. Ramos's instilled in our hearts to Be Amazing!
After every segment of the talks is a round of raffle for us Bellas! This is the part where everybody gets excited and hopes to win her most desired prize! :)
Ooh! Look at those lovely raffle prizes!

I won this cute pair of earrings from Nothing but H2O.  :)
Plus, all of us were given loot bags after the event. It rained blessings on us that day, both material and spiritual. More prizes. More friends. More learning. More fun. As I remember last year's BDJ Rendezvous, it makes me all the more Proud to be a Bella.
My loot. :)

[Food Review] Mochi Poochi

Best Blogger Tips
Who among you here loves mochi balls? Raise your hands up! ^_^ Me! I'm so in love with mochi balls. It is a staple topping in my yogurt cup. I have never imagined it to go with ice cream so well. Yup, the creative people behind Mochi Poochi concocted a very unique innovation. And it's not mochi ball topping on ice cream. But rather ice cream inside a mochi! Yum!

My Bubblegum Mochi Poochi in plastic packaging.
I recently visited their kiosk in Glorietta and I saw a lot of people on queue for it. I immediately fell in love with their mochi ice cream. ^_^ At first, I bought the mango flavored, aptly named as Mangosama. Yup, their ice cream names are Japanese inspired. So cute, right? ^_^ On my next visit, I tried the bubblegum flavor, simply named as Mochi Poochi. It was wrapped in plastic and you need to hold it in your hands for a few minutes until it is soft enough to be eaten.

And the flavor? Creamy ice cream and mochi (sorry I don't know what the white mochi is officially called) merge to give a fantastic blend of chewiness and sweetness. I just realized that it is fun to bite ice cream too. Hmmm... I'm not sure if it is okay for those who have sensitive teeth, though.

What's inside Mochi Poochi? ^_^

I suggest you try it too. Bestsellers include chocolate, pistachio, and red bean flavors. Go find out their cute names! Each cute mochi costs PhP50.

Mochi Poochi is located in Glorietta 4 every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
